Celebrating, Supporting, and Scaling Creators Across All Platforms on April 23, 2026 at the London West Hollywood
Los Angeles, CA — Today, the WorldBuilder Summit was announced as the first in-person event dedicated to the ecosystem of creators building virtual worlds and interactive experiences inside digital platforms, including Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, Rec Room, and Overwolf. The groundbreaking summit will be held on April 23, 2026, at The London West Hollywood Hotel in California and comes from the team behind the Buffer Festival, the international digital video festival held annually in Toronto for 10 years. WorldBuilder Summit gathers creators, studios, investors, platforms, and brands to discuss, collaborate, and shape the future of the creator-led economy as it rapidly evolves into full-fledged experiences that are played, viewed, and discussed across mediums.
While digital platforms have allowed creators to build fully realized worlds, characters, and businesses that extend their reach past players and into the cultural zeitgeist and generate billions in revenue, no flagship event exists to unite the diverse worldbuilding community. WorldBuilder Summit is designed to specifically fill that gap and provide a space for creators to connect with brands, studios, platforms, and investors to accelerate their mission and the development of immersive experiences. The Summit will explore topics including monetization, tools, discovery, partnerships, and collaborating with intellectual property. Attendees will gain insights from industry leaders while building relationships and unlocking new business opportunities in this exciting, shared space, a welcome change for attendees who largely work in silos without a larger community to access.
The WorldBuilder Summit has also unveiled its first keynote speakers: the Co-Founders of Story Kitchen, Dmitri Johnson and Mike Goldberg. Story Kitchen specializes in adapting games into film and television and is developing a feature adaptation of Grow a Garden, the Roblox phenomenon with over 33 billion plays.
Furthermore, the WorldBuilders Summit has announced its founding board, which is composed of accomplished thought leaders in entertainment, gaming, and technology. The founding board includes Nic Hill, Co-Founder and Head of Interactive of Sawhorse Productions, Bonnka Lim, Vice President of Marketing and Digital Games of Hasbro, Brendan Stock, CEO & Co-Founder of Chartis, Erika N. Ewing, Senior Director of Interactive Ventures & Video Games at LIONSGATE, Matthew Stein, Vice President of Digital Marketing at Warner Brothers Entertainment, and Jo Redfern, Founder and CEO of Futrhood Media.
“The future of storytelling is immersive, iterative, and playable. Worldbuilders are at the forefront of breathing new life into beloved franchises and inventing new cultural phenomenon. The Worldbuilder Summit is entirely creator-first and cross platform to form an inclusive environment where builders can freely learn from one another about disruptive design and monetization.
We’ve planned keynotes and hands-on workshops tailored to real-world business needs from creating profitable worlds and securing brand deals to curated networking and much more. We welcome builders from every platform to join us at The London West Hollywood this April,” said Scott Benzie, Executive Director, WorldBuilder Summit.
